Ysgrifennwch Adolygiad Cwsmer
Dylan Thomas yn adrodd hanesion o'i blentyndod yng Nghymru, gan roi i ni flas o'r golygfeydd, arogleuon a seiniau a brofwyd gan fachgen bach direidus, ag iddo ddychymyg rhyfeddol.

Dylan Thomas tells stories of his childhood in Wales, piling on the sights and smells and sounds experienced by one rough-and-tumble Welsh lad with a miraculous sense of wonder.
This CD consists of about an hour of Dylan Thomas reading from four of his stories: ‘Quite Early One Morning’, ‘Reminiscences of Childhood’, ‘A Visit to Grandpa's’, and ‘Holiday Memory’. I enjoyed listening to it, not least because I feel Thomas had just the right kind of voice for a storyteller. It's very natural and melodic. I can easily imagine him sitting on a porch somewhere, surrounded by people listening to his story, and someone with a recording device capturing the magic for those of us born too late to experience it live.

The stories are lovely too – they provide a vivid picture of life in early twentieth-century Wales, as seen through the eyes of a young boy. They are important in one sense because it is Dylan Thomas talking, but they are also wonderful bits of oral history for anyone interested in that time period.

One last thing I'd like to do is compliment the people who mixed the recording and transferred it to CD. The only other time I have listened to an audio recording of Dylan Thomas was an original 1949 record of Thomas reading excerpts from Under Milk Wood. His voice was the same, but the scratching and background noise were so bad I could barely hear him. On the CD, his voice rings clear, with no interference. Whoever cleaned the original recording (which has to be at least fifty-five years old) did a terrific job.
