Mwy o hanesion doniol a chynnes yr awdur a'i deulu ar dyddyn yng ngorllewin Cymru. Dilyniant i 'Scenes form a Smallholding'.

Another amusing and warm account of the ups and downs of life for the author and his family on a smallholding in west Wales. A follow-up to 'Scenes from a Smallholding'.
Remember The Good Life, that comfy TV sitcom of the late 1970s where a middle class couple decide to escape the rat race and adopt a more self-sufficient lifestyle? Well, thankfully Chas and Anne Griffin - stars of More Scenes From a Smallholding - are no Tom and Barbara Good.

The Griffins’ experience of swapping safe and sensible suburbia for the rigours of fending for themselves is very real and, if you’ll pardon the pun, a lot earthier and a lot funnier.

More Scenes is a sequel. Chas and Anne are already established on their plot of land in rural West Wales where they’re trying to live organically. There’s humour from the first page. After three years of tilling the soil to varying degrees of success, Chas is suffering from ME, otherwise known as Yuppie Flu – the scourge of modern life. The irony isn’t lost on Chas who writes of this – and all the other challenges the couple faces – in a highly readable and entertaining style.

There’s nothing twee about this ‘Good Life’. More Scenes is packed full of practical advice for those thinking of getting their hands dirty . . . and when you deal with slurry, there is no alternative. It’s also a very honest account of what this type of lifestyle choice involves.

This book should be compulsory reading for anyone who’s ever thought about abandoning their 9 to 5 ‘normal’ existence. In fact it should be compulsory reading for anyone who wants to laugh.
