Amcangyfrifwyd ei fod yn marchnata cymaint â degfed rhan o holl mariwana'r byd. Ond roedd ei wraig, Judy, yn rhan o'r fenter o'r dechrau. Ac am y tro cyntaf, mae'n adrodd ei hochr hi o'r hanes.

Howard Marks's story has passed into hippie folklore. At one time, the world's then most wanted man had 43 aliases, 89 phone lines and 25 registered companies. It was estimated that he was trafficking as much as a tenth of all the marijuana smoked in the world. But intimately involved throughout was Marks's wife Judy. Now, for the first time, she tells her own side of the tale.
When you’ve been married to the world’s most infamous drug smuggler, your life story is inevitably going to be colourful. Howard Marks has likened his relationship with Judy Marks to that of Bonnie and Clyde and Judy’s account of their life together is certainly the stuff of legend. The pair lived a jet-set lifestyle where they rubbed shoulders with film stars and some of the world’s most notorious criminals.

Judy Marks admits she was no innocent in all of this, on occasions acting as a courier for her husband. Her recollection of those extraordinary times doesn’t pull any punches, cataloguing the emotional highs and lows as well as the drug-induced ones. There’s also a painfully tragic side to her story. Judy spent two years in jail, separated from her children – an experience that has had long-lasting effects on all those involved.

The book ends as Howard Marks is just out of jail and heading back to Judy. But subsequent events proved there was to be no happy ending to the story as the couple have now split up, with Judy blaming the celebrity lifestyle that Howard has enjoyed since his release. Perhaps that’s not surprising. As this highly entertaining and very honest book shows, Judy Marks has always managed to keep her feet on the ground.
