Mewn pleidlais a gynhaliwyd gan gefnogwyr tîm pêl-droed Lerpwl yn 2006, roedd Ian Rush ymhlith y tri chwaraewr gorau yn hanes y clwb. Mae'r gyfrol hon yn crynhoi cyffro cyfnod Ian Rush yn chwarae i Lerpwl yn ystod yr 1980au, yn ogystal â chynnig dadansoddiad o'r gêm.

In 2006, Liverpool fans voted Ian Rush among the top three players in the history of the club. The drama of the Rush's time at Liverpool during the 1980s is captured in this work, which also offers an analysis of the game.
An enjoyable read about one of Britain's finest ever strikers, a goal-scoring machine.

Ian Rush was the boy from Flint who went on to become one of the most feared strikers in Europe. Rushy started his career at lowly Chester, before making his big move to Liverpool for a record fee for a young player at the time. He took time to settle at Liverpool, but when he did settle, boy, was he good!

He was a loyal servant of the Reds and spent 16 years there, apart from a year in Italy, which was a difficult period for him with learning a new language and team mates who were awkward, to say the least. However, Ian went on to score 14 goals in his season in Turin. For Liverpool his success came with a goal-scoring total of 346 goals which in today's times will be difficult to surpass. He became the record scorer in FA Cup Finals with 5 goals. He won many honours with Liverpool ranging from 5 League titles, 3 FA Cups and 1 European Cup. He formed a feared striking partnership with Kenny Dalglish which was one of the best in Europe.

Ian retired from the playing game in 2000 and his experience is now being put to good use by his native Wales as an Elite Performance Director and this can only be good news for Welsh strikers in the future.

The likes of Ian Rush will not be seen for a long time again and it was a delight to read the story of a successful Welsh footballer.
