Llyfr yn olrhain hanes llên merched yn y Gymraeg a'r Saesneg yn yr ugeinfed ganrif. Mae'n bwrw golwg ar sut yr oedd Cymru yn cael ei dirnad yn ôl Cymreictod ac o safbwynt benywaidd. Cynhwysir gwybodaeth am 70 o awduresau iaith Gymraeg a iaith Saesneg, a nifer o genres gwahanol, megis y stori fer a'r nofel a.y.b.

This book traces the history of Welsh women's writing in both Welsh and English in the twentieth century. It examines how Wales itself is conceived in these literary works as a place in which Welshness and womanhood can be lived and performed. Including approximately 70 Welsh-language and English-language writers, it covers multiple genres, including the short story, the novel etc.
Bywgraffiad Awdur:
Dr. Katie Gramich is Senior Lecturer in English Literature at Cardiff University. She has published previously for UWP and the Honno Press.
Gwybodaeth Bellach:
The book traces the history of Welsh women's writing in both Welsh and English in the twentieth century. It examines how Wales itself is conceived in these literary works as a place in which Welshness and womanhood can be lived and performed. Including approximately 70 Welsh-language and English-language writers, it covers multiple genres, including the short story, the novel, drama, poetry, travel writing, and creative journalism. It provides an important complement and, to some extent, a corrective of extant works of Welsh literary history, which tend to focus primarily on male authors. The volume builds on recent scholarship in Welsh womenís history, women's writing, gender studies, and postcolonial readings of Wales and Welsh writing, as well as on the important republication of women's literary work.
