Llyfr o hiwmor, jôcs a phortreadau doniol o ffermwyr gan y digrifwr (a'r ffermwr) Ifan Gruffydd, Tregaron. Mae'r gyfrol yn cynnwys adrannau ar y ffermwr, defaid, tractorau a 4x4s, a'r Sioe Fawr. Mae hefyd yn cynnwys cartwnau safonol.

A book of humorous anecdotes and jokes about farmers by the comedian (and farmer) Ifan Gruffydd, Tregaron. There are sections on the farmers themselves, sheep, tractors, 4x4s and the Show. Also contains top notch cartoons.
Peth ofnadwy yw bod mewn penbleth. Mae cwestiwn Ifan yn ddigon rhesymol ond wela i ddim ateb amlwg, er byseddu trwyr gyfrol yn ofalus a chael rhai awgrymiadau.

Mae hiwmor pob un yn wahanol. Yr ydym yn dehongli sefyllfaoedd yn aml yn sgil profiad personol neu amgylchiadau arbennig. Cyflwynodd Ifan nifer o elfennau o hiwmor wrtho iddo drafod pynciau amrywiol. Canmola dreilars Ifor Williams yn ddifyr, ceir cellwair wrth sn am ffyrdd cefn gwlad ac maer gorchmynion ir ffarmwr yn amserol. Y gorchymyn am y tymor wyna ywr ffefryn personol. Efallai mai hiwmor diniwed ywr hanesion am Sam Ifans ar hen Gardi ai hwrdd newydd, ond maent yn llwyddo i ennyn ymateb. Wedir cwbl, onid dyna yw bwriad pob cyfathrebwr? Diolch ddyweda i am hiwmor llon yn y dyddiau tywyll hyn.

Crafu yn hytrach na brathu, credaf i, ywr nd wrth i Gruffydd drin ei destunau. Maen awgrymu y dylai pob ceffyl gael rhyw fath o brawf cyn fentro ar heolydd prysur. Clywaf rai yn porthin frwd ond maer digrifwr yn ymwybodol y
gallai tynnu coes or fath 'ypsetio sawl un'.

Dychmygaf un o gymeriadau Ifan or sgrin fach yn ei dweud hi ar bwnc yr amgylchedd. Tybed a oedd y penboethyn rhagfarnllyd yman gwisgo cap hefyd? Wedir gwamalu cawn olwg efallai ar farn Ifan ei hun.

Mae nifer o bethau cofiadwy rhwng y cloriau. Yr wyf yn dal i feddwl am y jc syn well na dim un ar Noson Lawen, ac Ifan y storwr yn darlunio bywyd hen hwrdd. Weithiau teimlais fod Ifan yn yr un ystafell min adrodd yr hanes. Dyna ei ddawn: adnabod ei bwnc a'i bobl.

Maer cwestiwn yn y teitl, pwy faga ddefed, yn parhau. Bydd rhaid cael cwmni Ifan eton fuan eto er mwyn dod o hyd i'r ateb.

Forget children, whod have sheep?

Whod have kids? is a sentence many frustrated parents have uttered. But Whod keep sheep? has been mumbled by thousands of farmers across Wales over the years.

Pwy Faga Ddefed? translated as Whod Keep Sheep? is presenter, comedian and well known farmer, Ifan Gruffydds latest book.

In this Welsh book Ifan takes a light hearted look at the life of a farmer. From sheep to the Royal Welsh Show and from tractors, 4x4s, dogs and horses to Ifor Williams trailers, Ifan Gruffydd has an opinion, story and joke to tell.

This book takes a funny look at rural life. As a farmer myself I know that there are certain serious aspects within the industry, but there are also a number of funny situations. When you look at some of the things we farmers do and say, they are a little peculiar, says Ifan who lives near Tregaron.

In the book I tease and many parts are written tongue in cheek. I get a chance to rant while in other chapters Im very serious about what I say its up to the readers to decide which parts are true, he said.

Taking a comical view of the life and work of the farmer a number of jokes and humorous stories are included as well as an alternative 10 commandments for the farmer to live by along with some unique advice and tips. A short, sharp read, the book allows the reader to dip in and out of its chapters at any time.

I think that theres a shortage of light Welsh books. In English youll find a number of light books written on every subject under the sun. But youll rarely find one in Welsh, says Ifan.

Known for his witty humour, Ifan has made sure that his humorous voice is heard loud and clear in the book as he discovers the funny side to every situation. Humour has been my diversification! In regards to farming its been kinder to me than any subsidy! Humour has been my bread and butter, even better than that, its been the jam on my bread and butter! he said.
