A first collection of 42 diverse poems reflecting the influence of the poet's travels in Europe and the Middle East on her choice of subjects, especially the way the old and new co-exist in the 21st century, some poems having already appeared in previous publications.

Casgliad cyntaf o 42 o gerddi amrywiol yn arddangos dylanwad teithiau'r bardd yn Ewrop a'r Dwyrain Canol ar ei dewis o bynciau, yn arbennig y modd y mae'r hen a'r newydd yn cyd-fyw yn yr 21ain ganrif, rhai cerddi eisoes wedi ymddangos mewn cyhoeddiadau blaenorol.
Saadat’s debut poetry volume is a breath of fresh air, highly original and a very compelling read. Spreading her themes far and wide, this text skips merrily along, semantic brilliance combining with often blissfully vague subject matter to produce some excellent and thought-provoking verse. Subtle comedic tinges edge the vivid imagery that is so inherent in this book from first page to last, ‘pollen drunk bees’ a ‘naked creature in the fruity shoes’ and ‘folding cats from corrugated card’ just some of the zany characterisations that delightfully pop up from time to time.

Not only providing a text that is truly difficult to put down, this author has also managed to create a delicious style of her own that flows so easily from word to word. Nothing seems forced and the ease of writing cannot help but remind me in form of the laid-back beat poets, most notably Richard Brautigan, with seemingly whimsical phrases wittily dropped into place, revealing intricate ideas and emotions within them.

Totally avoiding any pomposity within her work, I really feel I can relate to a lot of what Sadaat is saying and musing on love, fashion, culture and travel amongst other things, this seems to me to be a poetry book for the masses. A ‘social literary’ volume if you will, my only real worry with this book is how this budding young author can follow it up! Not only does the content glitter but the cover looks really nice too! I look forward to another volume.
