A book which applies the Welsh academic writer and novelist Raymond Williams's theory of cultural materialism to a series of readings of literature and film produced in the years since Williams's death in 1988. Williams argued that literary texts do not only reflect what is happening in a society; they also cause changes to occur.
Llyfr sy'n rhoi theori'r awdur a'r nofelydd Raymond Williams ar brawf. Defnyddir ei theori am fateroliaeth ddiwylliannol wrth ystyried cyfres o ddarlleniadau llenyddol a ffilmiau a grewyd yn y blynyddoedd ers marwolaeth Williams ym 1988. Dadleuodd Williams fod gweithiau llenyddol nid yn unig yn adlewyrchu cymdeithas ond hefyd yn achosi newidiadau o fewn cymdeithas.
