An entertaining collection of 26 diverse poems by a popular children's poet who is master of awakening a child's imagination by making the ordinary seem unusual and the frightening seem friendly. 18 black-and-white illustrations.

Casgliad difyr o 26 cerdd amrywiol gan fardd poblogaidd sy'n feistr ar ddeffro dychymyg plentyn trwy droi'r cyffredin yn anghyffredin a'r brawychus yn gyfeillgar. 18 llun du-a-gwyn.
Every family should own a copy of Ghostly Riders. From comical lines to poems of real poignancy, Carradice has written a book of poems that is sure to appeal to all tastes.

‘There has to be a better way’, A phrase so often sung/ By men who worked below the ground/ And sweated blood to earn their pound, laments the last lines of ‘Men Who Worked Below the Ground’; elsewhere, the evocative fantasy of the brilliant ‘The Vampire’ appeals to anyone with a sense of the macabre.

On occasion, Carradice does fall back on the clichéd assault on teachers to provoke a cheap laugh, which does not sit comfortably in the anthology. However, this is a minor point for a book which is cleverly illustrated by some terrific artwork, and which will, no doubt, prove a popular choice.
